ZEBRA POINT: Thrifting with Eleh

The Zebreezy takes fashion seriously and we want to keep you informed on the latest. Zebra Point is a new series in which we will feature a swaggeriffic blogger from the online fashion community who has achieved the fame most of us can only daydream about. For our very first post today, we have chosen Eleh and her blog Come Thrifting With Me. In her own words, she is ‘odd. weird. tricky. complex’. We love all of her because:

  • She doesn’t need to flaunt designer brands to look fashion-forward. She is very frank about her love for thrifting.
  • Have you seen how pretty she is?  The Zebreezy’s a sucker for pretty faces.
  • Her hair is so beautiful, she could earn millions by just doing shampoo commercials. Seriously. And any shampoo she is sellin’, we are sure as hell buyin’.
  • Lastly, and most importantly, she was very prompt with replying to our emails. We adore girls who have their heads firmly on their shoulders. Especially such pretty heads.

We can vouch, as if our lives depended on it, that this pretty lady from Singapore is as stylish as it gets. The Lions are definitely checking for his Zebra. Get to know her better. Right here. Right now.

What made you start a blog in the fashion genre?

Initially, I wanted this blog to be more of an all-rounded blog, a space for me to document upcoming flea markets, my favourite runway looks, the latest brands in the market, outfit posts and such. Basically things that I was interested in. But somehow, it just never did work out. With that said, I am still very much pleased with how this blog has grown over time.

How did ‘full-clothes’ get its name?

When I was much younger, I used to love the novels written by Janet Evanovich and Charlotte Hughes. All the novels were named full-“something”. Hence, full-clothes.

What would you say is your inspiration behind this blog?

What motivates me the most to carry on with this blog still is the people who come to visit. I pretty much welcome any form of comments and recently, I received a comment from a reader who mentioned how my style has progressed over the years. My main intention for posting outfit shots is to document what I wear in hopes that one day, I would finally discover my style. But that never did came true for up till now, I can never fully describe what my style is for it’s neither here nor there. But I’ve learnt something very valuable over the years and that is to wear whatever you feel like wearing. It doesn’t matter if no one likes it. If you feel good in it, say to yourself, “others opinions be damned.”

Describe your style? What is the one thing about your style that you wish you could improve?

Random and erratic. I don’t follow trends but I do go through phases. Like this week I would wear colours, then the next I would be in black and white clothing. It’s like a cycle that never ends. Colours, no colours, colours… It’s really unpredictable.

Your fashion icon -

Right now, Ashley Olsen.

One thing about fashion you are not too fond of –

An L trying to fit into an XS. Seriously, you are not doing your body any justice. If you want to flaunt your curves, then show it off in a more “fitting” way.

Your favorite trend of all times –

Definitely skinny jeans.

The one trend you wish to wipe off the face of this earth-

Super, super short shorts where your butt cheeks can be seen without you needing to bend forward. Recently I saw this girl wearing that while shopping in Town and I was like, “Holy cow! A shopping centre is no beach!

One item in your closet you can’t live without-

I can pretty much live with anything provided that is breathable and comfy. But if I had to choose one thing, I would have to say earrings. I can never go out without wearing one. I feel naked.

The sites you follow-

Too many too mention. But if you’re on my link list, I do visit you. Although I must say that I don’t comment on very single blogs that I visit. My apologies for that :)

Bags/shoes or shades?-

Shoes. Definitely shoes!

If you were not blogging about fashion, you would be blogging about-

Daily musings. But I already have a blog for that :D

Your favorite places to shop/ Your favorite designers-

City Plaza, Bugis Village(Singapore) and Johore Bahru (Malaysia). My knowledge about designer names and such is pretty much laughable.

Lastly, any advice or tips for the newbie fashion bloggers out there who want to be as good as you?

Do whatever that makes you happy. You don’t need to be the next Rumi, you just need to be yourself.
